All in all, despite an incredible amount of rainfall and soil moisture early in the season, 2019 is a standout vintage. A long, warm summer saw very few extreme heat events, allowing the vines to progress at a perfect pace. At the end of the growing season, the weather was mild, which preserved freshness and finesse in the fruit. The wines developed beautiful structure and high-quality tannins due to the abundant hang-time, although the size of the crop was lower than average.
