I love the NV Essences Nº2, a blend of wines from 2015, 2018 and 2019, inspired by the Caballo Loco from Chile or the Reserva Especial from Vega Sicilia. The wine has a bright ruby color and a fragrant nose that is complex, insinuating and layered. It's not a shy wine at 14.5% alcohol, but the mouthfeel is fresh and medium-bodied, elegant and harmonious. It's the same wine from different years from a very old plot in Pedrosa with gravels and limestone clay with a little Garnacha Tintorera and white Albillo that ripen thoroughly. All the varieties fermented together in a soft style to avoid over-extracting. They produce some 500 liters every year. The only problem seems to be the price tag... Only one 500-liter barrel filled 654 bottles in June 2022.
