Louis Jadot Les Perrieres Meursault Premier Cru, France 2022

Louis Jadot Les Perrieres Meursault Premier Cru, France 2022
Smoky notes of mineral reduction add breadth to the cool and airy aromas of spiced green apple, citrus rind and floral wisps. The dense yet refined medium weight flavors possess a gorgeous texture that carries over to the markedly stony bitter lemon-zest-suffused finale that is bone-dry. There is already good depth to this youthfully austere effort and a decade of keeping should only render it more attractive. Worth considering.

The 2023 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru has the classiest bouquet of the six wines tasted from the appellation chez Jadot, with more mineralité as you would expect. There's just a touch of reduction here. The palate is well dened with more tension than the Genevrières or Charmes. This is not the most complex Perrières but it has the most persistency on the nish. Drink over the next 18 to 20 years.
