Despite the very hot year in the Central Valley, this carmenere doesn't seem to show that warmth, at least not in the intense way that we have seen in other wines. There's ripe black fruit here, but it's accompanied by good acidity that projects out to the end of the palate, lending freshness to the fruity flavors and underscoring the soft astringency of the tannins.
