I love the Pinot Noir 2021 Quebrada Chalinga produced with grapes from one of the most characterful vineyards in Limarí, Talinay, at only 12 kilometers from the sea where it only rains 100 liters per year. 2021 was cooler than 2019 and 2020, and a cool February allowed the grapes to ripen slowly. They used 60% of full clusters for the fermentation with indigenous yeasts; they did a soft vinification with moderate extraction and a maceration of 30 days. It has 13% alcohol and very balanced freshness and acidity parameters. It is elegant and sharp, from a late-ripening vineyard, with elegance and purity. It's pale, harmonious and ethereal with moderate ripeness and precision, varietal but tight. Beautiful. 8,144 bottles and 65 magnums produced. It was bottled in June 2022 after 14 months in used barrels.
