The still very primary and notably ripe nose features notes of violets, plum, anise, underbrush, black fruit liqueur and smoked meat. There is excellent volume and richness to the silky and very pure medium full flavors that remain understated despite the ripeness. It sounds odd to describe a wine as subtly powerful but this is discreet in character yet with sneaky punch and seriously good length. In a word, terrific and note that while this is still very young it is already drinking surprisingly well.
