This is ripe yet attractively perfumed with its broad array of red and dark berries, spice, pungent earth and a whiff of smoky character. There is much better volume and evident power to the medium-bodied flavors that possess notably better depth and persistence on the solidly structured finale. This well-balanced effort is not a monster of concentration but there is more than enough stuffing present to repay at least mid-term keeping and perhaps even out to 15 years.
