From a 1.8-hectare plot straight adjacent to the Loire, the dark crimson colored 2014 Clos de l'Échelier has a nobly intense and concentrated, yet precise and pure bouquet of perfectly ripe dark fruits along with spicy flavors of hot stones, graphite and cigar box. Full-bodied, silky textured and super juicy, but also pure and fresh, this is a hymn to Cabernet Franc and an extremely great drinking pleasure. it has fine tannins and a Burgundian finesse. Served from a black glass and at the right temperature of 14-16° Celsius, you would probably not know if it is a red or a white wine.
